My thought's exactly, when we find out there is a reward involved we will do what it takes.. If there is no reward upfront we just seem to skeet by with whatever we can!

That's pretty crazy. We're so quick and willing to carry the biggest load as long as we get something awesome out of it. Otherwise....what's the point? But..."who were you carrying the stone for?"

So something I was thinking about the previous question on twitter. If you look at the old testament, God is a god of wrath. Think about what happened in Joshua 7 to the guy who lied/disobeyed. He and his entire family were completely and totally destroyed "and all Israel was in fear" (or something like that). Think of the flood and Noah...his family and the animals were the only ones saved the rest of the world died. Which is crazy. While God did show mercy and grace, my guess is it wasn't until the New Testament and Jesus' death on the cross that God became predominately known as a god of love and mercy. although there was ananias and his wife...

So I guess some people would take this to mean we don't have to worry about living in sin b/c God's not a God of wrath anymore. But then you have to be careful and look at Romans where Paul talks about how we shouldn't keep on sinning...
